SINGING FROM THE BOOK
Singing from the book (super librum cantare), during the Renaissance, meant adding one or more voices to a written melody while singing. In this workshop, we will explore, through improvisation, different models of counterpoint from the 15th and 16th centuries, belonging to 3 categories :
- Simple counterpoint
- Florid counterpoint
- Canons
REQUIRED SKILLS AND PROGRAMME: CHOOSE YOUR LEVEL
The course is organised into two level groups, which will sometimes work separately and sometimes together.
To choose the right level for you, check here to see the required skills and the programme for level 2 and level 3. The course is organised in such a way that, if necessary, you can move from one level to another during the course.
Practical information
ACCOMMODATION
Choice of:
• Room with 2, 3 or 4 beds
• Room with 1 bed
• Camping on the monastery grounds
Bed linen is provided, but not towels.
RATES
Without accommodation:
• 180 € - Use of the venue & 1 meal per day
• 310 € - Use of the venue & 2 meals per day
On-site accommodation and full board:
• 430 € - Meals + camping on the monastery grounds
• 485 € - Meals + room with 2, 3, or 4 beds
• 600 € - Meals + room with 1 bed

MEALS

Registration
The course fee includes a €15 membership fee for the 2027 membership of the Super Librum association.
INFORMATIONS
The course is limited to 25 participants. If there are not enough registrations by 28 February (one month before the course begins), Super Librum reserves the right to cancel the course.
